Working with Behavioral Special Needs Children
15 Hour Training Program
5 hours on-line learning*
These courses can be taken at any time but must be satisfactorily completed before the live interactive session begins.
100 - Introduction to Special Needs Children - overview of current issues involving special needs children; child development
200 - Specific Behavioral and Emotional Disorders - focused review of common disorders that affect behavior in summer camp including: ADHD, Asperger's, depression, anxiety, social skills deficits, anger issues, more.
300 - Introduction to Applied and Functional Behavioral Assessment - fundamentals of Applied and Functional Behavioral Assessment
400 - Safety Issues - Safety Issues
500 - Working with Special Needs Children in the Summer Camp Environment - issues of working with behavioral special needs children in a mainstream setting; advocating for your charges; integrating with other staff members; dealing with parents
10 hour interactive learning of live, interactive learning includes: instruction, plan preparation and application, problem solving, role play, and more.**

Live interactive sessions are offered throughout the months of May and June. The 2014 live Bayside, NY program is scheduled for May 31, 2014. Additional dates or cancellation of dates are based upon registration.
